ARG Family Fun Race:
The ARG Family Fun Race will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. starting at the Glenwood Lake Park. This is a modified type of adventure race to give people an idea of how a full adventure race works and a great way to spend time with their kids outside on a Saturday morning. The race will consist of trekking (not running, unless you want to run) and navigating to find all the check points within the two hour time period. Each team must have at least one memeber under the age of 18 in order to participate.
Fees: Team fees are set at $50 for up to four people per team, however if you do have additional minors that wants to race they can be added for $10 each.
Maps will be provided and will have preplotted check points on the map. It is recommended that teams carry water or sports drink in a water bottle or in a back pack. There aren't any official water stations on the course. Check in for the race will be at 8:30 a.m. At that time you will get your team number, map, and instructions. We will go over the rules of the race and will begin promptly 9 a.m. Prizes and pictures will be awarded after the race.
All the proceeds for the events are donated to the Glenwood Community School District's Education Foundation operating fund. This fund was created to enable teachers with an avenue to support small specific educational opportunities for students without the use of the general education fund. This will further the district's goals of developing student knowledge and competencies required of responsible citizens in a global society.
