What is the deadline for registration?

August 2, 2018 at 11:59 PM (if you register after July 29, you will not receive a shirt).

How far will I be running/biking? What kind of shape do I need to be in?

The course is 3-4 hours in length. This is an endurance event, not a sprint. Your team can pace themselves according to your fitness level. Find your own pace, just have fun! You will be spending approximately equal amounts of time running and biking. The great thing about adventure racing is that you don't spend a lot of time doing one particular thing for very long. You will also be spending a fair amount of time stopped and checking your map, reading directions, and contemplating your strategy!

Where are we going?

The fun of adventure racing in not knowing what is going to happen next! This is why we do not distribute maps and instructions until race day.

Do all team members do all events?

Yes! Your team is required to do everything together, unless the instructions dictate otherwise. Team members are required to stay within 50 feet of each other at all times, and you must cross the finish line together.

Can my kids do this?

The minimum age for participation is 14, with at least one adult (age 18 or older) on the team. Ages 18 and up can participate without restrictions.

Are the streets going to be closed?

No. This is an open course, and all traffic regulations and laws must be followed at all times. Be careful, and be courteous! If race officials observe any teams breaking traffic regulations or laws, they will be penalized or possibly disqualified.

What kind of bike can I use?

Mountain, cross and hybrid bikes with tires that must be at least 1 1/4" wide. No road bikes are allowed. Helmets are also required. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Does my team really need all that required equipment?

Yes. Teams need to be completely self-sufficient on the course. There will not be on-course support to assist with mechanical problems (in other words, now would be the time to give your bike a careful once-over). Multiple flat tires can happen, so prepare accordingly! There will not be designated aid stations with water or food, so make sure that you plan ahead based on your ability, your personal needs and the weather.

What happens if we need to change my team roster after we have registered?

As long you contact us in advance, pay the entry fee and have a waiver signed, we are good. Just let Ryan know.

What happens if we can't participate on race day? Can we get a refund?

No, fees are not refundable. However, in some instances, the race director has the discretion on a case-to-case basis to make arrangements for a refund.

What happens if one of my teammates can't make it? Can I race with just one?

No, for your safety, all teams are required to have two members. You will have to get another teammate or drop out of the race with no refund, as explained above.

Can we help other teams during the race?

Yes, however, you may not receive outside assistance from anyone not involved in the race.

I heard there is a post-race party. What's that about? I like to party.

Everyone likes an after party! Join us after the race in the Community Center Gym for a post-race party with music, awards ceremony, prize drawings, pizza, soda & water, and beer! Infusion Brewing Company has graciously donated the delicious beer for the party!
